Thinking
I’ve been doing a lot of sketching and thinking about how I want to go about this new project and the more I think about it, the more I realize that I’m drawn to the idea of landscapes and the different backdrops that we all call home. Drawing, I’ve also realized that I’m interested in the shapes of farm tools and implements. The goal is to have my work create its own idiosyncratic meaning, so that the art can stand on its own. So much crap has been put out there that “supposedly” represents the natural world. I want to turn that upside-down a little. As one of my friends once said, “There’s already enough wallpaper in the world.”

I took this picture yesterday while I was waiting for its water tank to fill up.

I also took this one while I was waiting. You wouldn’t think it, but it takes a long time for a water tank to fill up when you only got a small garden hose.
